Aaron Kuoh Lian Shen

Hello. My name is Aaron Kuoh Lian Shen. I was born on 1st of July 2018. I am 4 years old. I have older brother. I am premature baby with 34 weeks. I was admitted at NICU (Neonatal intensive care Unit) for 13 days after I was born. When I was born, I weighed only 2.335kg. At the age of 2 years, my parent was curious why am I still cannot walk like a normal kid. I just love to crawl and want my mom to carry me. So they decided to bring me to the doctor for further investigate. After all the reassessment step by the doctor done, I was diagnosed Global Delay Development. (Failure to Thrive) and Cerebral Palsy at the age of 3 years old. My parent was so concern about me thus they ask the advice from the doctor what they should do so that I can walk like others kid. The doctor was suggest my parent to go for the therapy or school play so that I can interact with others. After meeting with doctor, my parent direct go to the places that the doctor suggest but unfortunately other places didn’t accept me because I was diagnosed as Cerebral Palsy. So that place has suggest my parent to go to Wishesland because that is the place for Cerebral Palsy to do for therapy. Without wasting time, my parent direct when to Wishesland. There I met Teachers of Wishesland. They are really welcoming me and family.
Teacher was reassessing me eventhough I was crying and tell my parents that I have potential to walk and can grow up like others children. Teachers was giving a big hope towards me and my family. They really wanted me can walk and be independent like others kids.
When I first visit to Wishesland on April 2022 for therapy, I started to cry and wanted to ask my mom to bring me back home. After a few sessions with Teacher (1 month later), my emotion has been improved. I have reduced in crying. I can manage myself’s feeling. I also enjoy do exercise with Teacher. They know how to cheer me up. My problem is that I was scared to walk by myself. I have lost my confidence. I am also weak in balancing during walking. Teacher teaches me how to walk by holding my hand and they will slowly let me walk independently. With the help of teacher and my parents, it takes almost 2 months for me to be able to walk with good balancing. Now I believe with support from my teachers and family, I can walk like others. My next goals is I want to balance myself during running and jump.
